Mumbai captain Prithvi Shaw on Thursday broke Mayank Agarwal’s record of scoring the most runs in a single Vijay Hazare Trophy edition. In the ongoing edition, Shaw has managed to score 754 runs in seven matches and as a result, he has broken the record of Aggarwal who recorded 723 runs in the 2017-18 edition. Devdutt Padikkal of Karnataka is also looking to break Agarwal’s record as he has scored 673 runs in this year’s competition. Shaw recorded his fourth century in the ongoing edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Thursday and became the leading run-scorer in the current tournament. Shaw scored a century while playing for Mumbai in the second semi-final against Karnataka at the Palam A Stadium.
The right-handed batsman scored a century in just 79 balls against Karnataka with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes. The 21-year-old Shaw was dismissed for 165 off just 122 balls with the help of 17 fours and 7 sixes.
Shaw has led Mumbai in three matches in the tournament and in these three matches, Shaw returned with a double century and two tons.
Earlier this week, Shaw broke the record for the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in a List A Chase by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Prithvi achieved this feat when he scored an unbeaten 185 off 123 balls against Saurashtra on Tuesday.

While Dhoni scored an unbeaten 183 not out against Sri Lanka in Jaipur in 2005, Kohli defeated India 183 for a six-wicket victory over Pakistan in the 2012 Asia Cup in Dhaka.
Prithvi surpassed the score of both Dhoni and Kohli while leading Mumbai to the semi-finals.
