The Apple iPhone 13 is one of the hot products that could end up being in short supply in the run-up to Christmas this year. Popular electrics retailer AO.com is warning the recently released iPhone 13 devices, along with the Xbox Series X and PS5, may be tough to come by in the next few weeks. Thankfully, at the time of writing, the iPhone 13 is available at plenty of retailers – with stores such as Three and Fonehouse slashing the prices in the run-up to Black Friday.
When factoring in how much the iPhone 13 Pro Max costs on its own, the £59 monthly fee works out as around £44 for the handset and £15 for the SIM – a remarkable price for 100GB of 5G data.
AO World said the expected iPhone 13, PS5 and Xbox Series X stock shortages are due to a number of factors.
The AO.com operators pinpointed the ongoing global semi-conductor shortage which has long affected stock levels for the PS5 and Xbox Series X – which have been notoriously hard to buy since the new Sony and Microsoft consoles launched last year.
The retailer also said supply chain problems, exacerbated by the nationwide lorry driver shortage, would also lead to stock problems.

As a result, AO said the festive trading would be “significantly softer” than anticipated.
AO said: “At the start of our financial year in April, we planned for continued revenue growth and built up our cost base accordingly.
“However, since then, growth in the UK has been impacted by the nationwide shortage of delivery drivers and the ongoing disruption in the global supply chain, and the German online market has seen significantly increased competition.
“As we now look to the second half, we continue to see meaningful supply chain challenges with poor availability in certain categories, particularly in our newer products where we have less scale, experience and leverage.”
