AIADMK legislators VT Kalislavan and A in the upcoming assembly elections. Prabhu is denied the ticket
Resentment over the refusal to give tickets to their leaders in the forthcoming Assembly elections to be held on 6 April continued on Thursday with supporters of Virudhachalam AIADMK MLA VT Kalisilvan protesting in Virudhachalam.
Supporters staged a protest, demanding a reconsideration of the party high command’s decision after AIADMK announced allocation of seats to its ally PMK under the seat-sharing agreement. The protesters said they were opposed to the move to hand over the seat to the PMK. The PMK has fielded its district secretary G Karthikeyan.
Kallakurichi
In Kallakurichi, the AIADMK led MLA A.K. Prabhu refused to give ticket and started a protest to a new leader Senthil Kumar.
Also, the former MLA who won the seat in the 2011 elections. The supporters of Alienlu Babu staged a protest in Kallakurichi city this time urging Shri Babu to field.
The ongoing stir for a while saw some tense moments when a cadre from the party suddenly immersed themselves with kerosene. The protesting cadres immediately poured water on her and thwarted her attempt.
It may be recalled that Mr. Kalisailvan and Mr. Prabhu switched loyalty to TTV Dhinakaran in 2018 and later returned to the original party.
AIADMK party sources said that disloyalty to the disgruntled group and switching their subsequent returns could be noticed when the high command announced its list of candidates.
