New Hyperoptic broadband deals make Sky, BT and Virgin look hugely expensive

We all want faster and better broadband but upgrading your speeds isn’t always cheap. Switching to ultrafast speeds from Internet Service Providers (ISPs) such as BT, Sky and Virgin can end up costing in excess of £45 per month.

For example, Sky’s 500Mbps speeds currently cost £45 and you’ll pay £44.99 for BT’s Fibre 500. Switching to Virgin’s M500 plan, which brings 512Mbps speeds to your living room costs and £46 per month.

If that all sounds like too much for bank balance to cope with then there is another option with Hyperotic offering some much lower prices right now.

The newly launch sale has monthly plans starting from as little as £20 per month.

Even the fastest 1Gbps plan is only £35 in the current sale which is a saving of over £20 off the usual price.

If you weren’t already aware, Hyperoptic’s premium gigabit broadband (£35 per month) allows you to download a feature-length film in High Definition in just 40 seconds. For comparison, that same film takes over 10 minutes via a standard 70Mbps connection.

Things get even better if you own a PS5 or Xbox Series X, with a 50GB game taking just 7 minutes to whizz to the console – that same title would take almost two hours via that 70Mbps speed.

These Hyperoptic deal lasts for a full 24 months so you’ll get that low price for two years before needing to switch contracts.
Of course, like most things in life, there is a catch as Hyperoptic’s cables aren’t in every street across the UK. The firm has now boosted things to over 50 towns and cities but sadly not everyone will have access to this deal.
