xiaomi: Xiaomi to launch a new smartphone series on September 27: All you need to know - Times of India

Over the last month, Xiaomi has clearly demarcated its product portfolio in two brands — Xiaomi and Redmi — and thereby got rid of the Mi branding. The company had said that while Redmi branded products will target the affordable segment, Xiaomi-branded devices will be premium. Under the Xiaomi branding, we have till now seen a pattern with the naming of handsets with a numeric component to denote series. Interestingly, the company is gearing up to launch a new series — called Civi — altogether under the Xiaomi branding.
According to multiple reports online, Xiaomi is set to launch a new smartphone series — called Xiaomi Civi — in its home country China on September 27. Online reports also suggest that with the Civi series, Xiaomi plans to replace the camera-centric Mi CC line. In 2019, the CC series was launched aiming at the young people, where CC stood for Colourful and Creative.
As of now, not much is known about the Xiaomi Civi series, either in terms of specs or international availability. Therefore, it remains to be seen if the Xiaomi Civi series comes to India or not, and if it does, where or not it will be called Xiaomi Civi or something else.
Meanwhile, in India, Xiaomi 11T series consist of two smartphones — Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro, the company is expected to launch both the smartphones in India in the coming week. The Xiaomi 11T series is the successor of the last year launched Mi 10T series. Out of the two, as the name suggests, Xiaomi 11T Pro is more powerful and it is also the first smartphone of the company to come with 120W fast charging support.
Xiaomi 11T series expected specs
While Xiaomi 11T is expected to come powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor paired with 8GB of RAM, the 11T Pro is said to be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor coupled with up to 12GB of RAM. Both are said to house a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 5000mAh battery.
