Medal for Women Scientists – The Hindu

Gender should never be an obstacle when choosing a career, said Lt. Gen. Madhuri Kanitkar, Deputy Chief of Integrated Defense Staff (Medical), Member of the Board of Governors of the Medical Council of India, as she encouraged girls to dream big. Principal Scientist P. Aruna received the IICT Director’s Medal for Best Female Scientist, while the Controller of Administration, Shailaja Madley, received the IICT Director’s Medal for Best Female Administrator. A press release stated that CSIR-IICT director S. Chandrasekhar said that the medal should be an inspiration for women to achieve greater heights in their chosen career paths.
