A person was arrested by Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) officers when he was carrying 365 kg of hemp in a vehicle near Narasipatnam in Visakhapatnam district on Wednesday.
Those arrested were identified by K. Golgonda Mandal. Ramakrishna (30).
Officials estimate the value of the seized ganja will be around ₹ 10 lakh in the agency and it will be sold for ₹ 30 to ₹ 40 lakh in some cities.
According to reports, based on reliable information, SEB teams stopped a van at a checkpost at 9 am and seized the ganja and van. SEB officials said that in order to avoid police investigation, the accused covered the hemp in husk bags. The accused was allegedly buying hemp in Chintapalle and taking it to Narasipatnam, where it was to be handed over to another party.
Cases were registered.
