The injured have been taken to Medical College Chamba, CM Jai Ram Thakur said that the condition of four of them is critical
Deputy Commissioner DC Rana said that on March 10, nine people were killed and several injured when a private bus fell into a deep ditch in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.
The DC said the accident occurred in the morning at Colony Turn in Bhanjaru of Churah Tehsil when a private bus bearing registration number HP73A 1316 and a bus operated by Happy Bus Service fell into the gorge on the way to Chamba.
During the ongoing budget session of the state assembly, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur told the House in the afternoon that he had ordered an inquiry to find out the exact cause of the accident.
Expressing grief over the deaths in the accident, the Chief Minister told the House that the bus fell into a 200 meter deep moat near Colony More at 10.15 am
Shri Thakur said that the injured have been taken to Chamba Medical College.
Mr. Rana said that the cause of the accident would be investigated by SDM Teesa.
A total of 18 people were on board the Badhal bus. Nine of them died, while many were injured, saying three of them were in critical condition.
Revenue, police, health and fire department teams carried out rescue operations.
He said that family members of the deceased and injured persons have been given relief of ₹ 20,000 and ₹ 5,000 respectively.
