Realme TechLife brand Dizo launched its first device in India earlier this month. The company unveiled two affordable audio products- Dizo Wireless earphones and Dizo GoPods D true wireless earbuds. It is now gearing up to launch its first smartwatch in the country.
According to sources, the company will host an online event on August 2 to announce the Dizo smartwatch. The device was earlier teased by Abhilash Panda, CEO, Dizo India, via a Twitter post. He posted a video on Twitter where he hinted at the launch of Dizo smartwatch in the country.
The AIoT-enabled smartwatch is tipped to be priced below Rs 4,000. Users will be able to control the smartwatch via Realme Link app.
Dizo smartwatch’s affordable price tag means that it will compete with the likes of Xiaomi, Redmi, Noise, Boat and even devices from its parent company Realme.
Smartwatches have become one of the fastest growing segments worldwide. As per a report by IDC, global smartwatch shipments grew 139.3 per cent (on year) with 2.6 million shipments last year. In India too, the smartwatch segment has been among the fastest-growing wearables. As per IDC, India was among the top 20 countries to see the most growth in the wearable segment in 2020. The growth in affordable smartwatch shipments has led to an year-on-year decline in the fitness trackers sale in India, as per the research firm.
Meanwhile, Realme launched two new smartwatches in India recently. These include Realme Watch 2 Pro and the Realme Watch 2. Both the smartwatches boast of health features like SpO2 tracker, real-time heart rate monitor and 90 sports modes for both outdoor and indoors.
Realme Watch 2 Pro carries a price tag of Rs 4,999 and comes in two colour options — Space Grey and Metallic Silver. Realme Watch 2, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 3,499 and will be available in Black colour.
