Google is finally making image search easier for desktop users with the Chrome 92 update.
Expanding its Lens visual search service, the company is bringing the tool to desktop users via Chrome web browser.
According to a report by 9to5Google, Google Lens will become the new integrated image search tool for Chrome and it will replace the old ‘Search Google for Image’ option from the right-click submenu on images.
Google Lens on Chrome will work in similar fashion as the previous option. The search results will be redirected to an all new website ‘lens.google.com/search’ instead of showing the search results in the traditional google.com layout.
On lens.google.com webpage, the image you’ve searched for will appear on the left side and the results will show up on the right column of the page.
The search result will be displayed with multiple sections which includes Top match, Similar images, related content and more search terms. There will also be an option to ‘Retry with Google images’.
Users will get the manual upload option where they can upload a photo of their choice to perform the image search using Google Lens.
9to5Google has reported that Google Lens support for Chrome is rolling out with version 92 update. However, the feature wasn’t available for us at the time of writing this article.
