New Delhi Municipal Performance tops the ‘Performance Municipal Performance Index in the Population Category’ below million.
Bengaluru was ranked the highest among the 111 cities in India in the government’s ‘Living Ease of Living Index’ on Thursday, followed by Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Surat, Navi Mumbai, Coimbatore, Vadodara, Indore and Greater Mumbai.
In the ‘Plus Million-Plus Population’ category, 49 cities have been ranked in the Liveability Index, Delhi is at the 13th position and Srinagar at the bottom.
According to the index released by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Shimla tops the category of cities with ‘less than million population’.
In this category, Bhubaneswar was ranked second, Silvassa was ranked third, followed by Kakinada, Salem, Vellore, Gandhinagar, Gurgaon, Davangere and Tiruchirappalli.
Muzaffarpur is at the bottom of the Liability Index for 62 cities in the ‘less than million population’ category.
New Delhi Municipal Performance tops the ‘Performance Municipal Performance Index in the Population Category’ below million. It is followed by Tripuri, Gandhinagar, Karnal, Salem, Tiruppur, Bilaspur, Udaipur, Jhansi and Tirunelveli.
Indore tops the ‘Municipal Performance Index’ in the category having more than a million population.
Surat stood second in this category, followed by Bhopal, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Raipur, Greater Mumbai, Visakhapatnam and Vadodara.
