Jayant Chaudhary was addressing the Kisan Panchayat organized by RLD in Dhikouli village of Baghpat.
Continuing his attack on the BJP government, Rashtriya Lok Dal vice-president Jayant Chaudhary said on Sunday that the government is laying a carpet for Ambani and Adani, putting nails in the way of farmers. Citing statistics, he wondered how the rich became wealthy during the lockdown.
Inviting Sahir Ludhianvi’s poem, he once again urged the peasants to harm the political prospects of the ruling party in all the upcoming elections. He reminded them, “You are against those who specialize in dividing you.”
Shri Chaudhary was addressing the Kisan Panchayat organized by RLD in Dhikoli village of Baghpat. Naming a local farmer who allegedly ended his life due to increase in bank loan and electricity charges, Mr. Chaudhary said, on the one hand, the farmers of Baghpat owed 2,342 crore to the public sector banks but on the other hand at least ₹ 900 crores. Payment is pending with sugar mills. “Three farm laws will serve as the last nail in the farmers’ coffin,” he said.
Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr. Chaudhary said, ‘PM can sell comb to bald person. “He has time to hold rallies in Bengal, but he can visit the protesting farmers on Delhi’s borders.”
When you are in politics, he said, one should be eager to listen to his critics. “But a cult is being built around the PM that anyone who criticizes him is called anti-national. Has PM grown up from the country, ” he asked.
He urged the youth to put the symbols of the farmers on social media. “Farmers wearing dhoti and kurtas are with us. Now we have to win over those who wear jeans. They are being misled in the name of Digital India. “
