Pakistan leads in COVID-19 cases, crosses 5,90,000

In the last 24 hours, the death toll from the virus has risen to 13,205 with 39 fatal diseases.

The Ministry of Health said on 7 March that Pakistan recorded an increase in COVID-19 cases with 1,780 new patients, which was 5,90,508 nationally.

According to the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS), the number of deaths from coronaviruses has risen to 13,205, with 39 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The positivity rate was recorded at 4.5% on 7 March, saying that 1,595 patients were in critical condition.

The ministry said that 5,59,248 people have recovered from contagion so far. There are 18,055 active cases in the country.

Pakistan’s positivity rate remained mostly below 3% in February, but started rising again this month and has now crossed 4%.

Authorities have warned of a third wave running in the country if steps are not taken to stem the tide. PTI SH CPS
