Industry chamber FICCI said on Tuesday that COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers need to be encouraged to help increase production to meet growing demand for COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers across the country.
The government is also required to make provision for immediate and adequate grants and subsidies through COVID-19 funds for its manufacturers, who are already developing or manufacturing COVID-19 vaccines in the country, it noted. In a statement, the union recommended financing under a PLI-type scheme to assist vaccine manufacturers.
