England batsman Jason Roy arrived in Chennai on Saturday for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) starting on Saturday, April 9, with Roy being signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the tournament as a replacement for Mitchell Marsh. The Australian all-rounder made himself unavailable for the entire season due to personal reasons. The 2016 IPL winners acquired Roy’s services at a base price of Rs 2 crore, the league had previously revealed in a media advisory.

The caption of the tweet posted by SRH’s official Twitter handle read, “@ JasonRoy20 has arrived. Squad # IPL2021 #OrangeOrNothing completed for #OrangeArmy.”

The England limited-overs opener moved from the Gujarat Lions to the Delhi Capitals in 2018 but was able to score only one half-century in eight matches in two seasons of the IPL.

He opted out of last year’s edition for personal reasons.

With the arrival of Roy, all the players of SRH team have joined the team. According to BCCI’s SOP, Roy will now remain in the quarantine for seven days before joining the squad.
