Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials have been asked to carry a negative Kovid-19 report to attend Indian Premier League (IPL) matches at the Wankhede Stadium. Even vaccinated officers and staff members have been asked to keep Kovid-19 negative reports. In a letter accessed by ANI, MCA Secretary Sanjay Naik wrote to all MCA Apex Council members to produce a negative Kovid-19 report for entry inside the Wankhede Stadium. Naik wrote in his letter, “As per the protocol of the BCCI, all officials who will participate in the IPL 2021 matches at the Wankhede Stadium will have to produce a negative report of the RT-PCR test.”
“Testing is also mandatory for those who have been vaccinated. Reports will have to be produced at the time of entry into the stadium on each match day. So you are requested to get yourself tested at the end and carry a negative report. Match Stadium on the day of, ”he said.
Wankhede Stadium is set to host 10 IPL games this season from 10-25 April. The first match at Mumbai Stadium is to be played later on Saturday between Delhi Capital and Chennai Super Kings.
Maharashtra is the most affected state due to Kovid-19. On Friday, the state of Maharashtra recorded 58,993 new COVID-19 cases, 45,391 recoveries and 301 deaths.

On Sunday, the Maharashtra government announced a weekend lockdown from 8 pm Friday to 7 am Monday to prevent the spread of Kovid-19.
