The IPL franchise said in a tweet on Wednesday that Daniel Symes of Royal Challengers Bangalore has tested positive for coronovirus. The Australians arrived in Chennai with a negative COVID-19 report but their second test was positive for Kovid. The news comes just days before RCB’s first game of IPL 2021 against Mumbai Indians. “Daniel Symes checked into Team Hotel in Chennai on April 3. With a negative COVID report coming in. His report came back positive from the second exam on April 7. Symes is currently asymptomatic and is currently in isolation at a designated location. . ”RCB tweeted.

“The Royal Challengers Bangalore medical team is in constant contact with Daniel Symes and continues his health and monitoring, following the BCCI protocol,” the franchise said.
Samson played for the Delhi Capitals last season, but was ahead of RCB in the IPL 2021 players auction.
The 28-year-old all-rounder got limited opportunities in the last IPL as he played only three matches for Delhi.

This was the second Kovid positive case within the RCB camp. On Sunday, it was revealed that uncapped opening batsman Devadatta Padikkal also tested positive for coronovirus on March 22 and has been in quarantine ever since.
RCB is set to play the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener in Chennai on 9 April.
