RCB on Sunday said that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Devdutt Padikkal has tested positive for COVID-19. RCB said that the left-handed opener had tested positive on March 22 and was present at his home in Bengaluru. “Devdutt Padikkal tested positive for COVID-19 on 22 March 2021. He has since been under mandatory quarantine at his residence in Bengaluru. Devdutt will be fit to join RCB bio-bubble as per RT-PCR test. IPL. Padikkal was RCB’s top scorer in IPL 2020 scoring 473 runs in 15 matches. It was also Padikkal’s first film.
The left-handed batsman has played 33 T20 matches and has 1271 runs at an average of 43.82 and a strike rate of 145.92 with a century and 11 half-centuries.
The 20-year-old has also played 15 first-class and 20 List A matches. He has six centuries and eight half-centuries in 1387 List A at an average of 86.68.

Padikkal was in superb form for Karnataka in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy where he scored four consecutive centuries and scored more than 50 in each of the seven matches played in the tournament.
RCB started their IPL campaign in Chennai on 9 April when they clash with defending champions Mumbai Indians.
