Washington Sundar named his dog after cricket stadium in Australia

Washington Sundar made his Test debut for India in a big way as an injury kept Ravichandran Ashwin out of the playing eleven in the fourth and final Test against Australia at the Gabba, Brisbane. He became an instant hero for Indian fans thanks to some great performances with both bat and ball. He took a total of four wickets, but even more importantly, he scored back-to-the-wall 62 runs to dismiss India in the first innings and then 22 runs in the second. For all, it was a great start for Sundar, one for the ages. And now the Indian cricketer named his dog after naming the place where he made his first film – Gabba.

During the Gaba Test, Washington came to a turning point, making Australia’s leading batsman Steve Smith his first Test victim. He completed it with the wickets of Cameron Green and Nathan Lyon with figures of 3/89 in the first innings.

After Australia scored 369 runs in the first innings, there was pressure on India to start well. However, the Indian top order broke and when Rishabh Pant was out, the audience was found at 186/6, the first major draw.

Sundar and Shardul Thakur, however had other views. The pair added 123 runs for the seventh wicket with their first half-century – the highest seventh-wicket partnership for India at the Gabba.

Thanks to India reaching 336 in the first innings, Australia’s hopes of a big lead were dashed.

The second innings was about the bravery of Rishabh Pant with the bat with the Indian wicketkeeper, who was dismissed for an unbeaten 89 to make India one of his most memorable victories in Test cricket.
