“Defending the Champions League title is tough.”

Eric Choupo-Moting believes Bayern Munich have a ‘very good chance’ of victory when they face Paris Saint-Germain and will not take ‘Ufa Champions League quarter-final match lightly’ on Wednesday .

Both teams faced off for the prestigious European Trophy in the Champions League final last year and Bayern Munich emerged victorious with a 1–0 win in Lisbon.

Choupo-Motting was a member of the PSG team last year, and he is set to face his former club at the Allianz Arena when Hansi Flick’s side performed host duties.

Ahead of the Crunch Encounter, Cameroon International revealed the Bavarian goal in the competition but felt it could not be easy as Bayern Munich are defending European and World champions.

Choupo-Moting told Club website: “The whole story is now back in quite a strange and quick way. At the time, it was an equal match between two of Europe’s best teams. Bayern deserved the win as they scored one more.

“For me personally, our path to the finals was very impressive, especially when my goal against Atalanta got us to Lisbon in the first place. Winning the title is the big goal of all of us, you can see every day in this club.

“We have a very good chance, but I think defending the Champions League is tough because everybody is chasing FC Byers to win it. We are currently being viewed as the best team in the world – it means that we want to beat everyone.

“It is all the more important that we work together positively, fun as a unit and, above all. We will not take PSG lightly. ‘

Choupo-Motting joined the Bavarians in October last year on a short-term deal as a free agent, which would expire at the end of the season.

However, the 32-year-old hopes to continue his career in Munich after contributing five goals in 24 matches in all competitions so far this season.

He said, “It’s a lot of fun at this club. What I promised to FC Bayern in advance is more than fulfilled.”

“Of course, it would be nice to stay longer. I go to training every day with a smile. It is an honor to play here. It is a top destination in European football. Every player knows what he has here. I’m super happy.

“Munich is a beautiful city, and since it is a great fit from the very beginning with my colleagues at the club and my family feels comfortable here, everything is perfect right now. My daughter was born here; I can say that I am very happy

He said, ‘The cake icon is wearing this shirt. Now, after the Club World Cup, all I need is a few more trophies – and to get them, I’ll give everything. “
