CSK begins their IPL season in Mumbai against the runners-up of IPL 2020 Delhi Capital on 10 April.
CSK did not have the best season in 2020 as they finished sixth in the IPL season for the first time and finished sixth.
Under MS Dhoni’s leadership, CSK received new recruits along with IPL legend Robin Uthappa, England off-spinner Moin Ali and all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham.
Jadeja was involved in a disappointing performance as a three-time champion last season as he scored 232 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 171.85 and took six wickets.
Overall, Jadeja has scored 2159 runs in 184 matches for CSK apart from 114 wickets.
Raina, CSK’s longtime number 3 batsman, has 5368 IPL runs in 193 matches with a century and 38 half-centuries.
Promoted
Raina, who retired from international cricket with Dhoni in August 2020, has led CSK in the past.
He also captained the Gujarat Lions franchise to the IPL playoffs in the 2016 season, when CSK was suspended on corruption charges.
