Five options will be allowed in this summer’s Euro 2020, UEFA announced on Wednesday, as football continues with the coronovirus epidemic. In a statement, the governing body of European football said that it was decided to allow five subs in the delayed tournament because “the rule is already for World Cup qualification matches that will run from March 2021 to March 2022.”
“The Kovid-19 are valid against the backdrop of the national and international football calendar affected by the pandemic,” the statement said.
UEFA said the rule would also apply for the final of the Nations League in October and its “play-out” would be canceled in March next year.

The move has already been implemented to increase the number of options in the Champions League and Europa League from three to five, as well as domestic competitions around the continent.
This came about in Europe due to the tight timeliness of the 2020/21 season, a late closure as a result of an epidemic that forced months off of the previous campaign.
