Gold declines, 49, silver plummeting by 331

In previous trade, gold had closed at ₹ 43,974 per 10 grams.

According to HDFC Securities, gold prices in the national capital have fallen from ₹ 49,943,925 per 10 grams on Wednesday, reflecting overnight sales of global precious metal prices.

The precious metal had closed at Rs 43,974 per 10 grams in the previous trade.

Silver also declined in the previous trade from 1 331 to 62,441 per kg of 62,772 per kg.

According to HDFC Securities, Senior Analysts (Commodities) Tapan Patel, the 24-carat gold prices have fallen in Delhi, while the prices have come down after looking at the fall in COMEX (New York based commodities) prices.

The Indian rupee slipped 20 paise to close at 73.58 against the US dollar in Wednesday’s trade.

In the international market, gold was trading below $ 1,684 an ounce and silver was trading at $ 24.09 an ounce.

“Gold prices have declined compared to the US economic recovery optimism,” he said.
