Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday urged the New Development Bank (NDB) to consider working closely with the New Development Financing Institute of India to finance infrastructure.
Founded by BRICS countries in 2014, NDB has so far approved 18 projects in India, including emergency spending of $ 2 billion to support health spending and economic recovery after the COVID-19 epidemic. Ms Sitharaman said that as a result of India’s rapid response to limit the impact of the epidemic and launch a large-scale vaccination campaign, Ms Sitharaman said that India had supplied 63.9 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in 80 countries , Including 10.4. Ms. Sitharaman, who is the Governor of India on the NDB Board, was speaking at the 6th annual meeting of the NDB on the topic ‘New Development Paradise: The Evolution of Infrastructure’.
The Finance Ministry said in a statement that the NDB advised to effectively meet the developmental needs of member countries and encouraged it to establish a relationship with several other multilateral development banks and DFIs, including India’s new DFI. NDB board meeting
