Fernando Alonso is behind the wheel of the Formula 1 car for another mantra, with the two-time world winner taking the lap for his third spell with the team alongside Alpine (formerly Renault). His first race on the F1 circuit was thwarted, however, due to a brake failure at the DNF last Sunday.

While brake failure may be a near-normal occurrence for F1 cars, the reason behind the failure was actually one of a kind: a sandwich wrapper was caught in Alonso’s brake system, forcing him to retire, Alpine Executed Martin Budkowski. From ESPN:
“After their first stop we had a small issue that forced us to reduce the performance of the car, then after the second stop, a sandwich wrap paper stuck inside the rear brake duct of Fernando’s car, causing high The temperature went up and caused some. Damage to the brake system, so we retired it for safety reasons.
“It was a very inauspicious first race for Fernando, given how strong she looked.”
Alonso’s teammate Esteban Ocon finished 13th, so Alonso had a good shot that he strengthened the race to complete. He also finished ninth for the start, so it was a strong and inauspicious resume for Alonso.
Lewis Hamilton took the checkered flag home after a thrilling duel between him and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in the race’s closing interval.
While F1 tracks are carefully cleaned of debris before and after the race, one might need to be careful with their next round of lunch.
