9 contacts of school students test positive for COVID-19 in Thanjavur district

Nine more individuals identified as first- and second-level contacts of 55 female students of government-aided Girls Higher Secondary School, Ammapettai – who had previously tested COVI-19 positive – have now tested positive for infection.

After the transition between students was identified, a total of 1,083 students and second-level exposure were subjected to COVID-19 tests at 23 locations in and around Ammapettai. The collector said that all the precautionary steps have been taken to prevent the spread of infection.

Meanwhile, a laboratory assistant at Government Higher Secondary School, Alathur in Pattukkottai taluk, tested positive for novel coronovirus infection.

Collector M. According to Govinda Rao, a holiday has been declared for the school since Tuesday and all students, teaching and non-teaching staff have been screened and swabed for the test.
