In the first reduction in the rate in two months, on Thursday, the price of jet fuel or ATF was cut by 3% along with softening in international crude oil prices.
Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) price fell by 1,887 per kiloliter, or 3% in the national capital to 58,374.16 per kiloliter, according to a price notification from state-owned fuel retailers.
This is the first reduction in rates since February after a four-round increase.
The rates were increased at 6 3,246.75 per kg on 1 February, followed by a 3.6% increase on 16 February, and a steep 6.5% increase on 1 March. On 16 March, prices were again raised to ₹ 860.25 per kg.
On Thursday, the reduction in domestic LPG price of LPG by 10 per cylinder was also implemented. This decrease was followed by an increase over four weeks, a total of s 135 per 14.2-kg cylinder, over several weeks. The subsidized and non-subsidized LPG cylinder of 14.2 kg now costs subsid 809 in the national capital.
Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged for the second consecutive day after three cuts in a week. The reduction was a total of 60–61 paise per liter. Petrol is now priced at Rs 6 90.56 per liter in Delhi, which is below the record high of ₹ 91.17, and a liter of diesel comes for 7 80.87.
While petrol and diesel prices are revised on a daily basis, ATF and LPG rates are revised on the 1st and 16th of every month.
Central and state taxes make up 60% of the retail selling price of petrol and 54% of diesel. The Union government charges pet 32.90 per liter on petrol and a 31.80 liter liter on diesel.
