At least 25 shops caught fire in Shivaji Market here on Tuesday.
No casualties have been reported in the blast, due to which the cause has not yet been ascertained.
“The fruit and vegetable market caught fire at 3.50 am. A senior fire department official said that while there was no loss of life or property, there was a lot of damage to property.
Prashant Ransafe, head of the fire department of the Pune Metropolitan Municipality, said water tankers were brought to the scene and the fire was contained within 40 minutes.
“While the main structure of the market remained in disarray, several shops and goods were burnt inside them in the fire.”
