The latest upgrade to Sky Q, Amazon’s Fire TV streaming set-top boxes and Samsung Smart TVs is sure to get your heart thumping. The new arrival comes courtesy of popular at-home fitness brand Fiit, which offers access to gym classes to follow from the comfort of your own home, has launched a “world first” update to its service.
Available on more than 20 million devices in the UK alone, the new iteration of the app unlocks interactivity for the first time. Until now, Fiit has included static prerecorded videos of some of the most popular workouts, including classes to target core, upper body strength, cardio-vascular fitness, and rebalance. However, with the latest update, Fiit members will be able to see statistics from their own body appear in real-time on the TV as they workout in the living room with the world’s most in-demand trainers.
Fiit isn’t the first service to offer something like this. Apple Fitness+ launched with a similar feature – bringing heart-rate and calories to your telly, so you don’t need to take your eye off the screen to check your vitals – however, it’s only available to those with an Apple Watch and joining a class via an Apple TV set-top box. While Fitness+ is available on a number of other devices, like a MacBook and iPhone, it won’t display the statistics from your wristworn tracker. The feature doesn’t work if you’re using another branded fitness tracker, like a Fitbit. While these work with the iPhone, can receive notifications from your smartphone to your wrist …there’s no way to share your heart-rate with the Fitness+ class.
In comparison, Fiit works with a handful of trackers, including the Apple Watch, Fitbit Versa, Fitbit Sense and Iconic, Samsung Galaxy Watch and Watch 3, as well as Galaxy Active 2.
Until now, the ability to bring your fitness statistics to the big screen in real-time was only available when connecting your smartphone to the TV. However, the new update means that, for the first time globally, subscribers with Sky Q, Amazon Fire TV or a Samsung Smart TV will have the ability to bring a fully interactive fitness experience in their living room via the TV alone.
Fiit has a library of some 700 on-demand fitness classes available. It says all of these will be compatible with the new real-time statistics addition. Tracking your fitness levels during the class also allows you to compare your performance against other Fiit subscribers in global leaderboards.

The new interactive version of Fiit is readily available on Sky Q, Amazon Fire TV and Samsung Smart 2018-2021 TVs.
If you don’t already have a smartwatch or wrist-worn fitness tracker, Fiit offers its own gadget, which snaps to your outfit when working out. Dubbed Fiit Tracker, it lets you see your heart-rate in real-time, calories burned, reps of exercises, and Fiit Points – unlocked by using the app frequently – in real-time.
